Basic Required Documents
Freshmen/transfer students applying for a VISA in their home countries should submit a Certificate of Admission(CoA) issued by the KU Office of International Affairs and apply for a VISA directly at the Embassy or the Consulate of the Republic of Korea
Freshmen/Transfer students whose nationality is one of the countries below : Cuba, Syria, Macedonia, Kosovo
The visa needs to be issued here in Korea at the Immigration Office by officials of the university. Please submit the following documents to the admission office for visa issuance.
- Certificate of Admission(CoA) (provided by KU)
- 1 color photo of the applicant (3.5 x 4.5 (㎝))
- Certificate of tuition payment

Certificate of bank balance (Must be over USD20,000)
(Only students who finished Korea University Korean Language School can submit a bank balance certificate over USD 10,000) - Census registry (Must obtain certification of the Embassy or the Consulate of the Republic of Korea or the Foreign Ministry of their home country after notarization)
- Certificate of High School Graduation (Must obtain certification of the Embassy or the Consulate of the Republic of Korea or the Foreign Ministry of their home country after notarization)
Census Registry and Certificate of High School Graduation (Must obtain certification of the Embassy or the Consulate of the Republic of Korea or the Foreign Ministry of their home country after notarization) are required.
Freshmen/transfer students changing their VISA from D4 to D2
- Passport
- Application form NO.34(at the immigration office), Alien Registration Card(ARC), 1 color photo (3.5x4.5 cm)
- Certificate of Admission(CoA) (provided by KU)
- Certificate of bank balance
- Certificate of tuition payment
- Certificate of attendance at Korean language center
- Official transcript of Korean language center
- Fee: KRW 130,000
