Student Support Program

Adjustment and Transition Programs for New Students

  • Bi-annual orientation for new international students
    • This orientation is designed specifically for international students to help them adjust to the new surroundings. It provides information about student visa, academic planning and management and campus resources.
  • Guided course enrollment prior to each semester
    • New international students unfamiliar with the registration system are assisted by local students on the spot of their registration process at an on-campus computer lab.
  • Korean classes available throughout the year to improve language skills
    • Students who have difficulties in classes due to their lack of proficiency in Korean are able to enroll in Korean classes in any semester, even in Summer/Winter sessions.
  • Additional sessions for students majoring in Science and Engineering
    • In order to help struggling students in classroom due to different high school curriculums, additional classes are open to provide fundamental knowledge and skills in math, physics and chemistry.

 

 

Student Experience Enhancement Programs for Current Students

  • KUISA (Korea University International Student Assistants) Buddy Program
    • KUISA Buddy Program is to assist international students getting used to their life in Korea and develop bonds with local students.
  • Interdisciplinary major of GKS (Global Korean Studies)
    • Interdisciplinary majors of GKS are specifically designed for international students at KU to foster overall understanding of Korean culture.
  • One-on-one language exchange program
    • Each participating student gets a partner to improve their language skills while building close relationships with local students.
  • Various activities to experience Korean culture
    • In order to help struggling students in classroom due to different high school curriculums, additional classes are open to provide fundamental knowledge and skills in math, physics and chemistry.
  • KU Leadership program
    • KU Leadership program is to support students in becoming globally competent leaders through intensive language and culture exchange programs.
